Position Summary – HPC Hardware Engineer:

TCL is developing leading edge processors and accelerators to power the next generation of HPC systems and other scientific instruments.  These processors will run scientific workloads everywhere from Earth’s orbit to the largest terrestrial data centers.  TCL seeks to create a new, scalable compute platform targeted at accelerating applications that are of critical performance but do not scale on current systems. To accomplish this, TCL is architecting custom processors, accelerators.

TCL is seeking talented hardware engineers for multiple full time positions for:

  • Processor Design and Architecture Development
  • FPGA Accelerator Development
  • ASIC Development

*** This position is 100% remote and does not require travel ***

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential:

  • Development of RISC-V based processor cores
  • Development of application specific accelerators
  • Development of memory, network and other IO interfaces
  • Creation of tests for hardware validation

 

Desired:

  • Assist with architecting new software simulation modules
  • Assist with performance and power projection studies
  • Assist with full system design parameters

 

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Masters / PhD (or equivalent experience) in computer science or computer architecture
  • Excellent Verilog skills
  • Experience with FPGA or ASIC design
  • Experience with Python programming
  • Experience utilizing Git for development
  • Experience developing in/for Unix/Linux/OSX
  • US citizen and subject to background check

 

Desired:

  • Experience with Scala or Chisel
  • Experience with C++
  • Knowledge of the RISC-V Architecture
  • Experience with LaTeX

 

Compensation:
